Lust have It January 2017 Unboxing and Review

Hi everyone!

Here's my January Lust Have It unboxing for 2017.

Information card

(Last video I mentioned my lack of working camera other than my webcam - so sorry for quality of these images, lol.)

The Items

Your Tea Her Tea + Marsk Eyeliner in Snowflake || Burt's Bees Lipstick + OPI in Shattered Super Bass

OFRA Eyeshadow/Highlighting Powder in Bohemian + Unani Dermo Defense Face Mask || The Bag

I appreciate the ease of flatlays a lot more after this post.

I assume that most people come to my blog to avoid my face, but this time was impossible. Sorry. :P

Swatches

Those nice swatches I did during the video smudged not 5 minutes later while I was taking these photos.

I'm not sure what they smudged on, but surprisingly this hasn't happened before. Not looking too good for either of these products.

Fresh swatches. It is really hard to capture the true colour of the Burt's Bees Lipstick, so I spent some time on the MS paint colour picker, and here is the colour I think it's closest to when swatched.

Overall
A very meh box.
Sure, the items "exceeded" the amount I paid for it in value ($22 vs $90.50.)
And I'm also really happy to see LustHaveIt fixing that mistake from last month where they forgot the Her Tea. That was great of them to include, (although I'm wondering if I would have gotten the extra Tea if I didn't remain subbed?)

But... They keep repeating the same brands over and over. Unani, Marsk, Ofra, Your Tea - we're all sick of seeing the same brands over and over again. At least, I am. These brands are grossly overvalued for what I believe is drugstore/pharmacy quality cosmetics.

There's no longer a real discovery aspect to these bags and thus my decision to not subscribe to Lust Have It anymore. For sheer value, Marie Claire The Parcel is a better choice for Australians.

Thanks for reading!

This is obviously not one of my best posts, but hey! I improvised. :P

Hope you guys enjoyed despite the shoddy camera xx

And to my fellow Aussies - hope you're remembering to wear sunscreen and a hat :) Stay hydrated!

With lots of love,

pynkbunny.

Vegan Box February 2016 Unboxing & Review

Hi everyone!

Today I have a The Vegan Box unboxing! This is a monthly box that costs $30 a month including shipping.

This is an Australian company. Reviews of this box seem really hard to find online.

You can buy one of your own here. They also have a bi-monthly beauty box which is pricier at $50/month!

The contents

The information card

My overall thoughts:

I'm very happy to find a vegan alternative to chocolate and parmesan sauce in here. I will use both (I'm still munching on the Cacao crunch as I blog right now - the taste is really growing on me and it's pretty delicious!)

I will also use the Konjac sponge, and I'm happy to try a different brand to the one I currently have, which is from Sasa. I really love my Konjac sponge, and they do need to be replaced regularly!

If I had to complain about something, it would be the small sizes of some of the other items. One Ginger Chew and one 4g Coconut sugar sachet seems hardly enough to make a real impression of the product.

I appreciate that they prefer to give us a lot of different products to try rather than a large quantity of one product, but I think it really is difficult to know from one candy if you want more of it!

I think for a box like this, paying $30 for $36 in value is reasonable, even though with a beauty box that would upset me more. This company seems like it's still growing, and the money goes into brand research which would be a lot more difficult in this area. + They're setting us up for the realistic expectation that becoming vegan is expensive :P

One more thing... I wish they replied to my email asking if I was getting the January or February box. Maybe they missed it? Or maybe their customer service is lacking. Either way, I got the February box, and not the January one, and no suspicious/dodgy double-charging happened, which is great!

I think there are definitely improvements that can be made, but my experience with this box is still overall a positive one! I would not mind ordering from them again when my budget allows - perhaps in April. =)

My video as always:

Thanks for reading/watching guys

With lots of love,

Bellabox October 2015 Unboxing & Review (ft. Lena!) (ft. WTF why did I buy this box!)

Hi everyone!

You've all heard of Bellabox by now, and maybe if you've been following my blog for a while, you know about my very tumultuous relationship with Bellabox :P (read: love-hate)

So without further ado, the contents of this month's box...

The contents

It was hard to make this box look good. Like, really hard. xD

Give me some credit guys!

Total value of this box:

1. Coastal Scents Eyeshadow (? no value given)
2. Ardell Strip Lashes RRP $10 (read as: $5, because noone buys from Priceline full price)
3. Aspar Hand Cream 10ml ($2.80 value)
4. Avene Skin Recovery Cream 5ml ($4.50 value)
5. QVS Eyeshadow APplicator ($6.99 value)

Bonus
Macadamia Natural Oil ($1 value)

Total value:"$25.30",
(which is really more like $10 if you consider how much I'm willing to pay for everything in this box.)

People pay $17.99 for these boxes Bellabox. Step it up.

$25.30 of value of $18 is still atrocious considering the quality of the products.

Final verdict:
"Wtf this box sucks lmao why did I resubscribe" - me literally everytime I receive a Bellabox. Why do I never learn? :P

Unboxing video as usual:

How were your October boxes? As bad as mine? Let me know!

October Native Box Lifestyle Box 2015! ♥

Hey everyone!

I received my first Native Box today! I chose the Lifestyle box instead of the beauty box because:
a) Lifestyle box is monthly
b) I currently have WAY too many beauty products to try... and I like trying new food :K

Anyway, let's get on with it!

My picture is missing the crickets, because I didn't want to touch the container. So I kept it in the box and held it by the cardboard box and threw it all out. I'm a huge wuss, I know. :K

I did take a photo but I didn't want to upset anyone who was easily upset at photos of dead insects like me, so yeah. Take my word for it, if you don't like dead insects in any way, it's a pretty horrifying surprise...

1. Food for Health - Muesli Pod (in Coconut, Cacao and Chia flavour) $3.30 at Coles

2. Qi Teas - Organic Green Tea (Wellness) (25 tea bags) $5 at Woolworths

3. Power Super Foods - Organic Chocolate Lip Balm ~ $6 at PowerSuperFoods

4. Edible Bug Shop - Roasted Crickets (Chilli and Garlic) ~ 15USD at Edible Bug Shop

5. Wendy Christina - Kakada Plum and Coconut Cleansing Milk $25 at Wendy Christina

6. Alter Eco - Organic Dark Blackout Chocolate ~ $4 at Alter Eco

Total value? $59.30

My thoughts:~

Paying $20 for this box is excellent, and even better for me because I paid 15 =)

Although it is very disappointing that the item second biggest in value is something that (in my opinion) is quite niche / wouldn't appeal to most people, the value of the rest of the box really makes up for it.

Organic foods really aren't cheap, so discovering options through a box like this is great I think!

I'm very excited to try the tea as well as the muesli, and I'm actually eating more of the chocolate now... my tastebuds are adjusting :P

My unboxing as always:~

Thanks for reading guys!

Let me know what you thought about including "edible crickets" into this month's box? Am I overreacting?

This has been linked up to Fabulousandfunlife!

PoP Box August 2015 Unboxing & Review - LAUNCH BOX!

Hey everyone!

Long time no unbox!

Today I'm here with a BRAND NEW unboxing of a BRAND NEW company! This is the first ever box from PoP box :D
Here's what was inside!

The Contents ♥

1. Candle from Candle Jewels, with a range of many delicious scents  (RRP $12 for six sample cups, so $2. here

Silly me thought it was a full sized jewellery candle from the spoiler post! I actually didn't see the post from the sneak peek on their official page, but on a different subscription box group. I've since tried to find the post and I cannot. So I can't tell if they actually originally guaranteed a full size candle and deleted the post, or if I didnt read it properly. Oh well.
I also struggled to find the website to the "Candle Jewels", as the information card didn't provide any links to their social media. Would probably be a good idea in future!

2. Beauty Blender tool (color selected randomly) ♥ (RRP $1 here

Arghhh. Sorry, I'm not at all a fan of these eBay beauty blenders. I tried to like the one I already have but I don't - it absorbs so much product and although the application looks okay, they're just not gentle on the skin and I'd prefer to use a brush or my hands over one of these. + the gross bug video...

3. Innisfree - Korean Facial Mask Sheet ♥ (RRP $1.74 here)

YESSSSS! Give me all the masks! Innisfree! It's really nice to see a Korean Beauty item in here! I didn't expect it at all :D I'll definitely use this - everyone loves a mask :D

4. Assortment of Rings ♥ (RRP $1.10 for all five in a set here)

Ahh, they're nice rings, I'm just disappointed because I have so many of these kinds of rings from eBay. I most likely won't wear them, but they're nice to have.

5. Me Now - Brow Pencil and Brush ♥ (RRP $0.70 here )

After being unable to find this item on eBay, my next thought was AliExpress. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against buying off eBay and Aliexpress at all - the product seems nice and very pigmented, and my current eyebrow pencil was $1 from ebay and looks extremely adorable too! Just very disappointing value in a $30 box I suppose.

6. Handmade Soap - Lil Creations by Rach ♥ (RRP $6 for 150g... so $3? here )

Not sure how to price this one! I don't have a scale to weigh this soap, but it does look thinner than the one that retails for $6. I'll give the benefit of the doubt and say it's about half that, so $3.

This soap smells AMAZING! Watermelon lemonade, just my cup of tea. It's a beautiful soap and I think this is more what subscrption boxes should be about - finding and discovering new brands and stores to fall in love with :D

7. Maybelline - Colour Show Nail Polish  (RRP $5.95 here)

The colour is so beautiful! I can't wait to try it out on my nails. I haven't had a go with Maybelline's Color Show Formula despite owning a few already.

8. ELF - All over colour stick (colour selected at random) (RRP $3 here )

I love ELF! I got a shade pretty close to my skin tone (thank gosh), so I'm glad to be able to use this. I guess for a small company I would have expected them to ask for shade information or allow a colour choice, since it's not like it's too much of a hassle to order specific colours for a few people as opposed to a large customer base.

Value in TOTAL?

$18.54. Shipping would have been another $8.

My Overall Thoughts?

I do think it's quite disappointing that for $35, the most expensive item in the box was a Maybelline nail polish worth $6. I do have a high standard for my boxes though, but I don't think I'll be buying a PoP box again any time soon unless I see some improvements from other people's unboxings.

PoP box in general seems to lack a general aim or focus - looking at their website, I don't see any particular aim like other boxes. Most subscription boxes do aim to allow their customers to discover new brands and products they would not have tried otherwise, which I don't feel like is really the aim of this particular box.

HOWEVER, it still is a decent selection of items, and it is only the launch box - there is definitely room for improvement but the box did ship out when it was supposed to, there was tracking provided, and I know that there will people who will still be genuinely happy with this box and happy to discover these items they would not have been able to try otherwise.

I think the box would also be well-presented with the cute purple thingies and the nice box with window idea.

As always, my unboxing video~

It's That Time - "Just Because Pamper Pack" Unboxing!

Hi everyone!

Have you heard of "It's That Time"? It's the latest Australian women's hygiene box to hit the market! -cue confetti pouring from the sky here-

They were kind enough to send me a box of my choice at half price to review for you guys, so buckle up :)

I ordered the "Just Because Pamper Pack" which costs $50 for the box and promises $80 RRP. They have LOTS of different packs and options - this one I chose to not contain any feminine hygiene products - only beauty.

I got this box on 13/6 and ordered on 6/6, so shipping took seven days - pretty decently fast considering it was with auspost!

Look at the glossy cardboard box this came in! SO SO glossy and even has their pretty brand on it! (It had a cute giftwrap pink wool bow thing going on too, but I ripped it open before taking a picture :(( )

Upon opening it, everything's wrapped up in black tissue and there are these fake scented rose petals everywhere. Smells so nice and clean.

THE CONTENTS FLATLAY.

In here we have:

♥ 3x Shick Exacta Razors (RRP $5)
♥ Boe Beauty Bath Puff (RRP ? I'm going to guess $2)
♥ L'oreal Elnett Satin Hairspray 75ml (RRP $10 for 400ml, ~$2 sample)
♥ Palmer's Rapid Moisture Spray (RRP $10)
♥ Priya Mild & Gentle Cleansing Shower Gel in Real Macademia Oil 400ml (RRP $10)
♥ L'oreal Colour Riche Lipstick in 01 Nudy Pink (RRP $22.95)
♥ Rexona Women Whitening 48 Hour Antiperspirant Deoderant (RRP $5.79)
♥ Homemade Wheatbags ($8.95)
♥ Libra Hotties Heat Patches (RRP $5)
♥ Lindt Hello My Name Is Strawberry Cheesecake (RRP $5)
♥ Yogi Bedtime Tea
♥ Nescafe Dark Choc Mocha

Also forgot to include the Tilley Pure Vegetable Soap (RRP $15 for 5, so $3) in the picture! Mine came in the flavour hibiscus flower ^^~

That's $80.55 value (according to my internet research of retail prices) without the condiments... Those wheatbags were the star of this box for me :) And you can only get them from It's That Time as well... so that's your $RRP $80 right there!

I think the box definitely pays for itself and would make a really lovely gift for mothers, aunts, little cousins... relatives in general. Sure people joke about gifting bath products, but seriously. Everyone uses them and they're nice! Because I didn't order any hygiene products, this box was very much a kind of hamper of random beauty products that you could customise if you wanted to.

The box is great in the aspects of presentation, shipping speed, and value.

Objectively, the only little hiccup was that the Palmer's spray was open and spilled a little bit. Nothing disastrous though.

BUT, I'm going to turn the lens of objectivity off for the rest of this post to explain my face sinking a little in the video. (It's my legitimate first impressions in the video, and I wouldn't hide my real reaction from you guys!)

Here's a screenshot of the sample contents on their website! You can see it here yourself if you'd like.

I saw quite a few products I wanted in there - Baby Lips (you can see my blogpost about my collection of eight here), Revlon polishes... These two items were in basically every unboxing picture I saw from this company, so I was pretty keen at first, but not quite sold on the whole box.

My collection hehe ~

I'm going to confess right now to you guys - the main reason that pushed me over the edge to purchase "It's That Time" was because I saw the Lindt Cookies and Cream Chocolate bar in someone else's box, and just wanted it SO BADLY. I couldn't find it in any Woolworths or Coles within a reasonable distance from me, so I asked It's That Time where they got it from and they said straight from Lindt. So I conceded, and asked if they could throw together a box that just contained the chocolate and some beauty products because I really wanted that exact chocolate. (Like yes, would pay $25 for a whole box of random stuff just for the exact chocolate kind of REALLY WANT. I'm a little insane, but I like chocolate okay?!?!?! :P)

Cookies & Cream HELLO Bar
Seriously, who wouldn't want a bite of this?

They said yes, and even discounted the box for me because they saw my blog, which was so nice! (Disclaimer: My opinions are still my own etc etc etc I'm honest as hell etc)

About four days later, I was paid so I bought the box. Then I discussed it with them even more - I gave them a picture of my Baby Lips collection and my Revlon nail polish collection and told them even if I got a repeat I would be fine with it, but I'd be pretty impressed if they avoided repeating colours I already had. Only if it wasn't a hassle though ~

They confirmed everything with me and shipped out the next day, la di da ~

As you could tell from my unboxing - there was no cookies and cream flavoured chocolate. I don't at all blame the company - I should have mentioned it again, but in my head it was very obvious because I told them I really wanted it and it was the reason I was buying the box! Of course four days is a long time and I should have reminded them, but for a box that has fully customisable DIY options, communication should be key.

The box honestly was still great, but learn from my mistake and be sure to always be clear in what you want! I told them I'd be really happy with any Baby Lips and not necessarily one that I don't already have, but that may have interpreted that as me not wanting one at all.

And anyway, everything turned out fine - THIS STRAWBERRY CHEESECAKE FLAVOUR IS AMAZING.

omnomnom

Check out their facebook here~

Check out their website here~

The link to the box I got (won't be exactly the same as mine, but will also be $50 for $80 of products similarly to mine) here ~

And as always, here's my unboxing video ~

What did you think of this box? Go show them some love on their page!

They're very new and of course there's always room to improve - I have really high hopes for them and hope to review another box later down the track showing how far they've gotten! ^_^

xoxo pynkbunny

Lust Have It May 2015 - Women's Box, Review, Spoilers & Impressions!

Hi everyone!

A Lust Have It May 2015 (not-box) for you guys today!

I say not box because this is the thing the contents came in...

What happened?! Did I miss the memo?!
My last LustHaveIt was in November 2011, and it was actually my first subscription box ever. It cost $10, I did a very crappy unboxing video in my ex-boyfriend's room with 10pm lighting, and I had no idea what I was talking about. I promptly unsubscribed to LHI after that because although the box was great for $10, I wouldn't pay $20 for it and I did not have nearly as much disposable income back then as I do today.

So it's actually a little sentimental for me to have my second box when my blog has just hit 30,000views... Even though it's low to some people, it's a big number to me and it really makes me feel like I've learnt so much between then and now :)

So since it's been so long, I got emailed a coupon for "$10 for my first box." After carting it, it became $8, which I did not mind at all!

I was very impressed with the contents of this box!

That's a LOT of good items for $8, and even though half the box are repeat items from other boxes, there are two very new items that are full sized and are more than enough to make up for it.

The brush and the Hola are worth at least $53 already. Add in the masks, $20. Add in the samples and you have something like another $8.

That's $81 value for an $8 box.

I would have happily paid the full $20 for this, this box was insane!

It was more skincare than makeup focused, which I personally like, but some people don't tend to. Either way, they probably chose the foundation stick instead, which still would have paid off the value of the box by itself.
(You could choose the foundation stick or foundation brush via emailed survey - otherwise it was randomly chosen for you.)

I don't see how anyone could complain about this box. It's probably one of the best value Australia boxes I've received so far. (Big claim!)

It shipped and arrived on time, it had a great spoiler item with options, it had a little something in there for everyone, and it had fantastic value.

My only complaint is.... Where is the physical box?!

I'm a cardboard box junkie and I love my boxes to store things in and collect! -grr-

This probably has been something ongoing for a while that I just didn't know about because I wasn't staying updated with LustHaveIt news. All I knew is they were having issues before May, and now they seem to be getting their act together again.

As always, here's my unboxing video!

Here's the link I used to get an $8 box if you're interested - click here.
Even though my review and experience with this box is good, you must keep in mind that LustHaveIt has recently been undergoing legal issues, heavy delays with shipping times and other issues that have not affected me personally. Please consider this before you buy, and always pay with Paypal so you are protected.

with lots of love,

pynkbunny.

February 2015 Bellabox - Harper's Bazaar Edition! Unboxing & Review

Hi everyone!

Here's my Bellabox for this month!

Yup, it's the Harper's Bazaar edition - there were three magazines you could have received this month, and to be honest I was hoping for Cosmopolitan (I think Cosmo is honestly so hilarious!)... But Bazaar is cool too :) There's a lot of pages that would look good on my magazine page wall so hooray :)

Here's the information card with the value of each item!

A lot of samples I won't go near but that's alright - I get a shiny magazine and an Essie nail polish!

Mine is in "Take It Outside" and it is a gorgeous grey colour!

Sorry my application is quite messy - I think that the polish still looks quite nice despite me uncoordinatedness which really says something about the polish!

It was really easy to apply, the formula is nice and thick, the brush covers an entire nail with one swipe and it dries reasonably quickly :)

The Essie polish really does live up to the hype!

For my first impressions and unboxing, please check out the video below!

I hope you all have a fantastic day!

xoxo
